Autumn Diffuser Blends

Wow is summer really over???  We had a very hot dry summer in Calgary AB, Canada this year.  It was probably one of the warmest summers with no rain I’ve ever experienced here… Now I’m not complaining, I’m loving it but sad it is over.

Fall is such a beautiful time of year with the trees all changing color, the cooler weather and the fresh smell in the air.  When I think of Fall I think of all the nice scents that accompany it.  I used to use candles and air fresheners in my home, but then I did some research and found that most candles and air fresheners have toxic ingredients in them that can cause respiratory issues.  Yep it’s true.  Not to mention the artificial fragrances that are linked to cancer-causing chemicals.  Yikes, not for me…

I did a lot of research and found that Essential Oils are way better for you and a lot cheaper in the long run.  I now have a cupboard full of Essential Oils and use them daily, either as air fresheners, face/body lotions, healing etc.

Being it is Autumn as of tomorrow I decided to share some of my favorite Essential Oil Blends for Autumn.  I hope you enjoy and have an awesome Autumn.

Health Benefits of CBD Oil

Today I’m going to talk about an amazing product I stumbled upon.  It’s called Hempworx CBD Oil.  Research is finding there are a lot of health benefits with this oil.

Before we get into the benefits and testimonies of CBD oil, lets explain what it is.  Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally taking place constituent of commercial hemp/cannabis. It is the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in marijuana, and is being scientifically investigated for numerous reasons. CBD oil is a marijuana oil (whether derived from cannabis or industrial hemp, as the word marijuana is the latin genus name for both) that has significant amounts of cannabidiol (CBD) included within it. Hempworx CBD items and extracts are stemmed from commercial hemp, so they could be considered CBD-rich hemp oil, hemp obtained CBD oil, CBD-rich cannabis oil, or plainly “hemp extracts” because they generally contain much more than just CBD.
Once again, cannabis doesn’t suggest marijuana, however is the genus name, and general umbrella term which all types of cannabis and hemp fall under. The form of cannabis they utilize for their CBD and hemp extracts is commercial hemp. Their products are non GMO, organic, made in the USA, and very rich in the raw materials they use. They are confident in their products because they utilize the full spectrum Cannabis plant and the customers will get better results with their products than any others in the marketplace!

All thier hemp crops are grown free of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, so their quality starts with their hemp plants. From the time their hemp oil is harvested to the manufacturing and shipping of their products, they test their hemp oil multiple times to ensure accuracy in potency information and to check for contaminants like pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, and mold, as well as cannabinoid content. They also use a supercritical CO2 method when they extract their hemp oil, instead of harsh solvents. CO2 is a much healthier choice than other potential solvents and is “generally regarded as safe” (GRAS) by the FDA.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is just one of over 85 cannabinoids that is identified in the cannabis plant. CBD is becoming increasingly popular amongst the masses for having a wide scope of medicinal benefits – due to clinical reports and mounds of test data showing little to no side effects and a lack of psychoactivity (typically associated with marijuana products and high THC).

HempWorx CBD products are made with certified organic hemp grown in Colorado and are 100% free of any synthetic or artificial ingredients. We have 80% purity levels whereas our competitors have 15-40%. Everything is tested in an FDA Approved facility and our products contain ZERO THC.

The benefits of this incredible product go on forever.

Mental & Brain Health
CBD affects principal cannabinoid receptor in the brain promoting a healthy state of mind.

General Health
Cannabidiol has incredible medicinal benefits and will improve overall wellness.

Healthy Balance
Cannabidiol helps restore healthy balance to the endocannabinoid system.

I owe you guys a big apology. I thought maybe you could be exaggerating a bit for sales. The testimonials, I thought maybe they could have been encouraged with free product or something. I am skeptical by nature and am leery of things that seem almost too good to be true.
But these drops are! amazing! I cut my opioid dose in half and on the second day, I took the one painkiller late. Because I didn’t really need it. I even took my evening drops late. Because I didn’t need them. I am considering going off this opioid completely tomorrow because I feel so good! My mood is amazing … I’ve been depressed since the day I was born I think, and have been on antidepressants for 19 years … I will be going off of those too … I am going to try very hard to ditch all the pharmas I am on because I do believe in this oil.
I cannot thank you two enough for bringing this product to my attention. This could be the start of a new life for me … I still have skeletal issues which I don’t think this product can fix, lol … but depression, anxiety, chronic pain … I feel 1,000% better than I did only two days ago. God bless you guys at Hemp Worx! – Leslie Hardy

I have been taking Zoran for 8 years now for nausea. Today I received my pure CBD oil from Hemp Worx and within seconds the nausea went away…literally…I am so happy I can leave the chemicals and side effects alone bc this products is pure hemp seed oil!!! Bye bye long term meds!

And those are just a few.  Click on this link to read many more

It’s the season for Allergies again

Well it’s that time of season again.  Allergies Season…. the dreaded runny nose, sneezing, itchy hives, headaches, watery eyes etc.

Allergies develops when the body’s immune system becomes sensitized and overreacts to something in the environment.

There are a lot of over the counter drugs for the symptoms, but most of them have ingredients in them that can damage the rest of your body.  If your like me you want to avoid putting these drugs in your body.

I turn to Essential oils.  They serve as a natural and safe way to treat the symptoms of allergies and boost our immune systems. These essential oils for allergies have the ability to chemically support the body and help it to overcome hypersensitivity.

Here is a great diffuser recipe that I use in my diffuser.

3 drops of Peppermint – unclog sinuses and scratchy throat

3 drops of Eucalyptus – relieves congestion

3 drops of Lavender – antihistamines in the oil will prevent a violent reaction to the allergens

3 drops of Lemon – prompting the body to increase blood circulation and clear the respiratory tract and sinuses. It works in tandem with the above mentioned oils to prevent congestion. Lemon oil is the best friend of asthmatics.

You can also mix these 4 oils in a carrier oil like coconut oil and rub on your temples, behind your ears and on your chest.

Below is a chart on allergies and Essential Oils.

Happy Gardener

Hi All,

Well summer is upon us and it’s time to get your produce seeds/plants in the ground or in containers. I’ve been working super hard getting my garden ready to go.

My hubby built us a raised vegetable garden box along with a potatoe box and we have multiple containers for the bigger plants. I just finished putting my veggie seeds and plants in them and I’m so excited to have organic veggies this year. I don’t have a very big yard so we use a lot of containers to grow our produce. I have them spread out all over my deck and yard. Where ever the sun is, there is a container with some kind of veggie/fruit in it.

Why I am growing my own veggies?

I grew up on an orchard in the Okanagan; my parents ran a fruit/veggie stand. My mom had a huge veggie garden out back where she grew every kind of vegetables you can think of. Her garden was all organic with no chemicals fertilizers or pesticides. As for the fruit trees on our land, well they would get sprayed with chemicals fertilizers and pesticides. My dad would get up on his tractor with a white full body suit; including a respirator (he looked like he was going into a radiation room or contaminated area) he was completely covered from head to toe. Behind the tractor was a big tank on wheels full of pesticides and chemicals. He would spray all the trees and we were not allowed outside until the air cleared. It was brutal and stunk so bad. These chemicals and pesticides would burn his skin if it came in contact. Now imagine putting that in your body…. No thank you… My mom would get so angry with us if we didn’t wash the fruit before we ate it. I remember her saying “it will burn your insides if you don’t wash it off”.

Now that was many years ago, I’m sure today they have come up with a better solution (or I hope they have), that isn’t as harmful. All of the articles I’ve read so far say the pesticides are still being used. Here is one article written from the government of BC.

Anyways, I find gardening very relaxing and enjoyable. It’s my happy place. It gives me a sense of pride to be able to put fresh organic food on the table that was grown in my own backyard. It is also fun to watch what you planted, grow into beautiful yummy food. The flavor is so much richer and you know what you’re putting in your body.

What am I growing in my garden?

New raised garden box: Carrots, few different lettuces, radishes, peas, green beans, peppers, edamame beans and cucumbers.

Smaller box #1: Yellow squash, spaghetti squash and zucchini.

Smaller box #2: 4 different kinds of onions and garlic.

Potatoes box: 4 potatoe plants.

Barrel Container #1: Spinach.

Barrel Container #2: Chives.

Barrel Container #3: Watermelon.

Barrel Container #4: Raspberry.

Barrel Container #5: Gooseberry.

Planters: Tomatoes (Beef eater and Cherry).

I’m also growing my own herbs in my greenhouse this year. They include thyme, oregano, basil, parsley, rosemary, dill, cilantro and sage.

I want to try something new this year as well. I want to grow and learn to make my own teas. I’ve purchased some calendula, peppermint, lemon balm and a few others. I will let you all know how that goes. If any of you have done this before I would love to hear about it and which plants you used.

So what are the benefits of growing your own veggies?

Save Money

Growing your own vegetables will trim a significant amount of money from your grocery budget. Seeds are inexpensive and can be dried and used year after year. By learning to preserve, can or freeze your yearly harvest, you can enjoy fresh produce all year long without spending a fortune at the grocery store.

Get Healthy

Home-grown vegetables are healthier than those in store bins. They retain more of their vitamin content when eaten straight from the garden. They are also more likely to be free of pesticides or chemicals. It is also easy to get children involved in vegetable gardening, increasing the likelihood they will want to eat what they have grown. Gardening is also a good way to get exercise and fresh air. It’s relaxing and a good stress reliever. It’s also fun to see what you can grow.

Fresh is Best

There is nothing like the taste of vegetables freshly picked from the garden. Vegetables from the grocery store have endured lengthy and stressful shipping conditions, only to arrive at the store and sit for an undetermined period of time. Fresh vegetables are available to eat practically off the vine and are better tasting than their store-bought counterparts.

There are many ways in which food may become contaminated, whether at the farm, the manufacturer or the transportation center. When you grow your own vegetables, you can control the conditions and stop worrying about the safety of your food.

Environmental Impact

By growing your own vegetables, you are also helping to preserve the environment. Organically grown vegetables reduce the amount of chemicals introduced into the Earth by way of pesticides and herbicides. Pollution from fossil fuels will also be reduced by decreasing the amount of fresh, offseason vegetables being shipped all over the world.

Build a sense of pride.

Watching a seed blossom under your care to become food on your and your family’s plates is gratifying. Growing your own food is one of the most purposeful and important things a human can do—its work that directly helps you thrive, nourish your family, and maintain your health. Caring for your plants and waiting as they blossom and “fruit” before your eyes is an amazing sense of accomplishment!

Happy Gardening everyone!
